i don’t know much

and maybe that’s why I can’t figure out the latest communication with the dc that maybe has a server of mine that maybe needed fixin and maybe the server is still somewhere and maybe I just don’t know where.
Have a lengthy ticket conversation, involving replacing a hard drive . . . . well . . [...]

28 Mar

one of these days . . .

I’ll get back to tweaking this site’s style.
I don’t particularly like the way it looks right now. But, I don’t dislike it enough to be bothered with it.
Far too many things to do.
I have to go pick up one of my trucks from my nephew today. He’s just a little motor head. [...]

27 Mar

breakfast with Mom

Mom was up from Florida.
So, we all met up at Big Boys for breakfast.
They had fun trying to seat the twenty of us.
And we had fun causing of the mass confusion.
She came up for two days and is going back down with my sister tomorrow. Sis is going down to live by mom [...]

Chili for All

The thing with chili is, it’s often too spicy for some people. Well, it doesn’t have to be. This recipe is easy to make and a joy to eat.
It is mild enough for the children and flavorful enough to please the most discerning of chili enthusiasts.
Chili For All
1 lb ground beef (I use ground round [...]

20 Mar

trippin’

Went to Canada; Montreal QC.
Took a couple days.
Have to go back Monday.
Maybe we’ll come back with the car then.
Sound like I don’t wanna talk about it?
Well, I’ll prolly tell the whole story . . . when the odyssey is finished.
Did I mention, it’s 1,600 miles round trip?

17 Mar

myvaluehost domains

Anyone get in on the $4 domain names with these people?
I did. And even recommended them because they are OpenSRS resellers.
However, I had some domains that I didn’t want to renew. So, I just let them drop. Or so I thought.
Seems that their “hook” is that all domains are auto-renewed. And there is no way [...]

when members attack

I don’t talk about WebHostingTalk much, because most of my interaction is from an administrative position.
But, these cowards that choose to attack the moderation of WHT instead of addressing their own self do get on my nerves.
The latest incident involves a member that has “left WHT for good” on three different occasions that I’m aware [...]

after the upgrade

It ain’t grabbin’ me yet.
I’m about ready to roll back to 1.2. But, I’ll give this version a try for a bit.
Probably depends on if I can get it lookin’ like it used ta look.

13 Mar

to upgrade

I have had this page open for three days now.
I have grown to like the looks of this version. So am afraid, with my limited skills, I won’t be able to replicate it.
Not to mention, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
I’ll likely read it a few more times and take the plunge though. 1.5 [...]

12 Mar

too much

food
I had to cook a turkey dinner yesterday. Ya’ll know I’m single; right? Well, that 16 lb turkey was just taking up too much room in my freezer.
I think I need to quit buying freezer food.
Both freezers (the one on the refrigerator and the one in the basement) are full. Not just kinda full, but [...]

Get that flash with GetFlash

Have you ever received a flash e-card from your friends? Do you often find some good flash animations or play interactive games made by flash; but you do not know how to save them?
Now,

about nothing

WHT’s been down a spell. So, while I’m having these withdrawal pains, I suppose I should write.
But, I have nothing to write about.
It was rather an unevenful day.
Although I went shopping and got some new toys for the kitchen and that made me happy.
Every once in a while, the kitchen needs to [...]

Bold Country Beans

These have long been a family favorite.
Although, I usually serve them with cornbread and/or fried potatoes, they can stand on their own quite nicely.
They are bold, hearty, and easily made up before hand to be cooked for a beanified meal.
Bold County Beans
1 lb lean ground beef
2 large cans (28oz.) pork ‘n beans
1/2 lb crisp fried [...]

You unspeakable bastard

I am the most emotional person I know. But, you don’t need to be emotional to get emotional about September 11th 2001.
I had reprinted Leonard Pitts, Jr’s sorrowful words from 9-13-01 on my FreedomRings site and feel the need to post them here as well. Not just because I still don’t feel well. But, I [...]

Today is not a Good Day to Die.

I often gazed upon a beautiful sky and remarked, “Today is a good day to die.”
The last time I said that was October 15th 1999.
I was sitting on the neighbor’s porch and we were watching the billowing clouds in the clear blue sky. The weather was warm. And the sky was perfect.
Henry had been my [...]
