I’m going to quote his post here in case anyone else has a similar issue.

FYI folks — If you get the error message: “system 5 error access denied” you’re probably attempting to run the command from the console without promoting the session for administrator access. By default, the command console in Windows Vista runs in limited use mode and must be manually promoted when administrator access is required (even if you are logged onto an administrator account). The easiest way to run the command prompt as an administrator is to:

Left Click Start
Mouse Over ‘All Programs’ and Left Click Accessories
Right Click Command Prompt and Left Click ‘Run as administrator’

The C prompt should say something like Windows\system32 and not USERS\’your screenname’

you should now be able to use the ‘Net localgroup Administrators Local Service /add’ command and fix the bug …

the problem i think is that in cmd it say the file location and a blinking under score after it

Thankyou for the fix for the dreaded x shown in the connection box.I spent an age trying to solve this problem,and i dont easily get put of so you can imagine my partners had a nightmare to get me of this computor while ive been trying to fix it.Thank god theres computor genises like yourselves that are willing to help us thankyou so vey kindly

it did not work for me i got
system error 5 has occurred
access is denied.
i am the administrator and none of the other things work for me either

it worked! i have deleted Generic Host from startup and… it not frozen anymore!! Cool
